Audit Readiness

Generate a PDF timeline of who was working at a location, what they were carrying and when they were compliant — plus a zip of every COI on file.

Overview 🗂️

Audit Readiness produces the two things an insurance auditor usually asks for: a PDF timeline showing who was working at a location, what they were carrying and when they were compliant, and a zip containing every COI on file for those companies. It is most commonly used to evidence insurance tracking for a workers' compensation audit.

This article says "location". If your account renames locations to projects, sites or buildings, the Audit Readiness tab is in the same place under your own label.

Setting the period 📅

  1. Go to the location you are being audited on and open the Audit Readiness tab. The page is blank until a period is set.
  2. Set the period you need to evidence — typically your workers' compensation policy period, or the full duration of the project.

Reading the timeline 📈

BCS builds a timeline of every company that had a compliance assignment tied to that location at any point in the period, showing the stretches they were compliant and the stretches they were not.

Scroll below the timeline for the policy-level detail: which policies each company was carrying, and at what limits.

Exporting for your auditor 📄

  • Export the timeline to PDF. The full timeline for the period you set, including the compliant and non-compliant stretches and the policies and limits behind them. Save it or send it on.
  • Download all COIs. A single zip of every certificate on file for the companies in the timeline — the most current ones plus older and expired ones, so the documents match the timeline.

Send your auditor both and you have the timeline plus the documents that support it.

Tips ✅

  • 📌 Set the period to match the audit, not the calendar year. If your carrier is auditing a policy period, use those dates so the timeline lines up with what they are reviewing.
  • 🧾 The zip deliberately includes expired and superseded certificates. That is what evidences continuous tracking across the period, so there is no need to weed them out.
  • 🏗️ Run it per location. Audit Readiness reports on one location at a time, so generate a separate PDF and zip for each project under audit.
