Availability: Available to all Hiring Company users.
Overview
The BCS Procore integration is built and maintained by BCS, not a third party. Because we own it end to end, it is fully comprehensive: it syncs your projects, your subcontractor companies, their contacts, and the relationship between one subcontractor and multiple projects. 🔗
On top of the sync, you get a native BCS side panel inside Procore that auto-detects the record you are viewing and shows live compliance information (policies, endorsements, documents, contacts, and activity history) right where you already work. Setup is completely self-serve and takes about two steps. 🚀
What the integration syncs
- Projects: choose exactly which Procore projects sync to BCS.
- Subcontractor companies: your Procore directory companies become vendor records in BCS.
- Subcontractor contacts: contact records sync alongside the company.
- Compliance assignments: the association of one subcontractor to multiple projects is preserved, so you can track a sub separately on every project they work on.
- Insurance policies: synced policy data appears in the Procore Insurance tab.
- Commitments: commitment records sync, with the option to limit to active commitments only.
The BCS side panel inside Procore
Open a subcontractor from a project's Directory and the BCS side panel appears automatically. It detects the record you are viewing and displays the matching BCS company, plus that sub's compliance assignments. Click into an assignment to see:
- 📋 Policies being tracked, with limits and compliant or non-compliant status
- ✅ Endorsements, tracked and evaluated just like policies
- 🔍 Policy detail: click a policy to understand exactly what is wrong with it
- 📄 Documents: click to open the certificate or attachment in a new tab
- 👥 Linked contacts from BCS
- 🕓 Activity history: a quick snapshot of what has happened on the record
A link at the top of the panel takes you straight into the full record in BCS, where you will find the project compliance overview with AI-generated insights and a compliance health score. The same panel and the same functionality are available from the Insurance tab and from Commitments, so wherever you are working in Procore, compliance is one glance away. 👀
Setting up the integration
In BCS: go to Settings and open the integrations tab. If the integration is not connected yet, you will see a short guided setup. Follow the two steps, complete the final confirmation, and you are off to the races. This tab is also where you manage the configuration going forward.
In Procore: when you configure the BCS application, you control which projects sync to BCS, whether to sync only active commitments, and which commitment types sync. That means you decide the scope of the sync, and nothing comes over that you did not ask for. ⚙️
What happens in BCS once your data syncs
Because your Procore projects and subcontractors live in BCS, the full compliance automation engine goes to work on them.
Terminology that matches construction. BCS labels are configurable, so you can rename Vendors to Subcontracts and Locations to Projects and have the system speak your language. 🏗️
Instant COI review. When a subcontractor submits insurance documents, BCS reads them immediately. The AI checks the insured name, AM Best carrier ratings through our live AM Best lookup, limits, policy numbers, expiration dates, endorsements, and policy pages, including exclusions such as height limitations, residential conversions, and multi-habitational exclusions, even in documents running 90 pages or more. You get instant red and green feedback in seconds. ⚡
End-to-end request automation. Add the subcontractor, give them a compliance assignment with a requirement category, a project, and any documents such as a signed agreement or W-9, and BCS takes over. The initial COI request goes out listing exactly the policies required, the vendor uploads documents from a landing page with no login needed (a phone camera works too 📱), the system reads the submission instantly, deficiency notices go out automatically when something falls short, and renewal notices follow as expiration dates approach. Compliance turnaround drops from one or two weeks to minutes. 🔄
Project-specific requirements. Each project can use your general additional insured and certificate holder requirements, or you can switch a project to project-specific language. Configure it on the project, and as soon as a compliance assignment is associated with that project, the COI request asks for that project's specific additional insured language. 🎯
Tips
- 💡 Start small: sync a handful of active projects first, confirm the records look right in BCS, then widen the scope.
- 💡 Rename Vendors and Locations to Subcontracts and Projects before you roll the system out to your team, so the terminology is familiar from day one.
- 💡 If requirements change after a submission, have the system reread the document. It re-evaluates against the current project requirements in seconds.
- 💡 Check the assignment, not just the company. A sub can be compliant on one project and non-compliant on another.
