Requirement Overrides and Waivers
Override RiskBot's answers during a document review, and change, waive or un-require specific requirements for a single assignment.
Availability: Hiring Company accounts.
Overview
RiskBot reads every certificate and flags anything that doesn't meet your requirements, but you always have the final say. ✅ There are two ways to accept something RiskBot flagged:
- Override an answer during the document review. Use this when this certificate is acceptable to you even though it doesn't strictly match the requirement.
- Change the requirement on the assignment. Use this when this vendor should have a lower limit, or a term should no longer be required at all.
Override a RiskBot answer 🔄
- Open the review. After a document is uploaded and reviewed, you land on the review summary. Audit Results shows the compliance score and how many items are compliant, non-compliant, low confidence, manual entry or not applicable.
- Find the flagged items. Click View the non-compliant items, or click All Items at the top of the review panel. All Items lists everything RiskBot checked, grouped by coverage.
- Filter. Use the filters at the top (All, Manual, Non-Compliant, Low Confidence, N/A) to narrow the list. Select an item's name to jump to it in the review.
- Change the answer. Switch the item's answer from No to Yes (or type a new value into a field). For example, accept the insured name as written, or accept a policy that isn't on an occurrence basis.
- Finish the review. Click Back to review, then Done.
💡 Spotting overrides: once you override RiskBot, the RiskBot icon next to that answer fades. Hover over it to see what RiskBot originally read (for example, "RiskBot read No; it was changed to Yes"), and click it to reset to RiskBot's answer.
Change or waive a requirement for one assignment ✏️
- Open the assignment and go to the Details tab.
- Under Assignment Requirements, click Edit Requirements.
- Adjust a limit. Type a new required value, for example lower Each Occurrence from $1,000,000 to $500,000. Each coverage also has Ignore AM Best rating, Combined with excess and Ignore limits checkboxes, and you can change the Carrier floor (financial size and strength) or uncheck Required coverage for a whole coverage.
- Un-require a term. Scroll to Insurance Provisions (or Certificate Holder / Description of Operations) and uncheck Required next to the term, for example CGL – Occurrence Basis.
- Save. The bar at the bottom lists your unsaved changes. Click Save Changes, or Discard to back out.
These changes apply to this assignment only. Adjusted limits are marked *Different from the assigned requirement category, and Reset to original restores the category's requirements at any time.
📌 If the change should apply to every vendor in a category, edit the requirement category itself instead (see Requirement Categories and Editing Compliance Requirements). To track a formal approval, use Request Exception on the assignment.
